DairyFree Cream Cheese Frosting is very easy and quick. Use on any cakes or cupcakes that call for regular cream cheese frosting. This frosting, unlike, other allergy friendly frostings it’s shape well can be dyed. The frosting only uses 5 ingredients and you can use it plain or add your fravourite flavours to it.

Dairy Free Cream Cheese

I used Violife cream cheese alternative for the first time and I must say I was not disappointed. You can use your favorite one. Use both the cream cheese and the dairy free butter at room temperature.

Corn Free Icing Sugar

My kids are not allergic to corn so we can easily use regular icing sugar without any problem, but I do understand some people may be allergic to corn. While not all icing sugar may contain cornstarch but some do, so if you cannot have corn starch then one hack is to make the powdered sugar at home using granulated sugar. Just grind the required amount of the sugar in a coffee grinder to make a fine powder.

Dairy Free Cream

This recipe has liquid added in the form of dairy free cream alternative. You can use dairy free milk instead but the consistency will be thinner and runny as the dairy free milk have more water content. This is why I used dairy free cream instead, this gives the frosting the right consistency.

Making the DairyFree Cream Cheese Frosting Thicker

This recipe already makes a nice thick frosting, but if needed you can add more powdered sugar to make the cream cheese frosting even thicker.  I recommend that you add about 2 Tablespoons at a time until the desired thickness until you reach the thickness you want.

How to store the dairyfree cream cheese frosting?

You can cover and store this frosting for up to 5 days in the refrigerator or up to 3 months in the freezer. After freezing, thaw in the refrigerator then beat the frosting for a few seconds so it’s creamy again.
