Allergen Free Easy Dairy Free Brigadeiros
I made these Brigadeiros, allergy friendly by following substitutions:
- Condensed Milk: I used coconut milk condensed milk: it does give a slight coconut taste to the fudge balls.
- Butter: Use any of your favourite butter alternatives.
- Sprinkles to Decorate: I have used chocolate sprinkles but you can also use rainbow sprinkles to coat the balls.

Cooking Condensed Milk
Cook the condensed milk, over medium heat by mixing constantly, otherwise, it will burn, until it thickens. A way to know is to run your wooden spoon in the middle of the mixture. If it takes a while for the mixture to move, then your brigadeiro is ready.
Another way to know is when the mixture reaches 205F-208F, use a candy thermometer or a regular food one.
Since we are using coconut condensed milk and not regular condensed milk it may take a little longer to get the desired thickness.
The mixture should not be like a sauce, once cooled, you should be able to make balls easily with it.
