dairy free baked potato wedges

Cheesy Spicy Potato Wedges

I love quick and easy homemade potato wedges and even more so if they are Cheesy Spicy Potato Wedges – Dairy Free. They are versatile in terms of the seasonings you can use, to make them.

I have posted my simple potato wedges recipe before. This time I made the wedges a little different. I added dairy free cheese to them.

What kind of potatoes to use for Cheesy Spicy Potato Wedges?

The best potatoes to use for wedges are the Russet potatoes. You can use any other kind but will take longer to cook and may not turn crispy enough.

How to cut the potatoes?

  • Cut the potato in half lengthwise.
  • Then cut each half further into half lengthwise again.
  • If the potato is still thick cut it further

What kind of dairy free cheese to use?

You can use any flavor of cheese you like. I have used shredded cheddar but smoked gouda would be a nice experiment too.

Seasoning the Cheesy Spicy Potato Wedges

Make sure to grease the potatoes first with olive oil. This enables the seasoning and cheese to stick to the potatoes. Then use any of your favorite seasonings and herbs to flavor the potatoes.

Baking the Cheesy Spicy Potato Wedges

  • Bake in a single layer.
  • Turn halfway through to make them golden on both sides.
  • Bake for one hour at least to fully cook the potatoes. You can bake them for more time to make them softer from the inside and crunchy from the outside.
  • If you have a roast setting on the oven use that to cook the potatoes. This will make wedges even crispier.

Serving Suggestions

Serve these wedges as a side to any of your favorite main dishes or with any of the allergy friendly main dishes from the blog. You can also serve them as a Superbowl snack.

    1. I want to make these for a Super Bowl party because I needs some dairy free ideas. These look great! But… I think the nutrition calculation is not right. It says 43 grams of fat per serving. I don’t think that can be right for a splash or oil and 1/2 cup of dairy free cheese.
