Making Easy Homemade Fruit Popsicles are a fun way for kids and adults to experiment in the kitchen. It’s also an easy way to control what ingredients go into the popsicles, to make them allergen free.
Not only that homemade fruit popsicles are an easy and refreshing treat to help you cool down from the heat, in the warm weather.
I hope you have as much fun creating these frozen treats as I did. Almost anything can be frozen, so grab your favorite ingredients and let’s play around!
Fruits
Instead of pureeing the fruits chop them instead, it gives the popsicles texture and visual appeal – bright, beautiful and fresh looking! Yum!
Chop small or thinly sliced pieces of fruit like watermelon, strawberry, mango, pineapple, or any of your favourite fruits. You can also use frozen fruits. I used watermelon, mango, blackberries, and strawberries.
Liquid
These popsicles are made with 7up but can be made with:
- Fruit juice such as orange, lemon, guava, grape or apple.
- Coconut water
- Dairy free milk or yogurt
How to Make Fruit Popsicles
When you’re making your popsicles, try to fill each mold with as much fruit as you can get into it.
Depending on the type and size of the popsicle mold you use, you may need to adjust the quantity of the fruit. Leave enough space for the liquid and stick to go in.
If using a clear soda, be careful when pouring it in as can bubble over and spill out. For the popsicle molds I used, a mini can of the soda was enough to fill all 8 molds.
Freezing Easy Homemade Fruit Popsicles
At least 4 hours are needed to turn the parts from liquid to solid. Overnight freezing is the best, and something to look forward to the next day!
